Chris Rock finally talks about the slap of Will Smith during the Oscars
During a performance in New Jersey, the comedian returned to his high-profile altercation with the actor.
“Anyone who says words can hurt has never taken a punch in the face!” Comedian Chris Rock came out of silence to return to the very impressive (and media) slap in the face that actor Will Smith gave him at the last Oscars ceremony.
Chris Rock was performing on Sunday, July 24 in New Jersey and he spoke about this sequence in front of the public at the PNC Bank Arts Center. “I’m not a victim. Yeah, it hurts. But I immediately moved on and went to work the next day. I’m not going to the hospital because I cut my finger with a sheet of paper”, dropped the comedian.
Chris Rock had not wanted to react hot, just after the incident, preferring to devote himself to his new show and promising that he would integrate this unfortunate sequence into future texts. “I don’t have much to say about what happened, he told the press. I’m still digesting what happened. So, at some point, I’m going to talk about it. And it will be serious and funny”.
Will Smith, meanwhile, seriously tarnished his image that night. “My behavior last night at the Oscars was unacceptable and inexcusable, he wrote on Twitter a few hours after the televised slap. Jokes at my expense are part of the job, but a joke about Jada’s health problem was too much for me and I reacted emotionally. I would like to publicly apologize to you, Chris.
What I did was inappropriate and I was wrong”, he continued, also apologizing to the organizers and guests of the evening Oscars.
